1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS454 LS6 FOUND IN A BARN, STORED FOR 40 YEARS!

As most of you know, the 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6 is called “The Ultimate Muscle Car King Of The Streets”. Even people who hate Chevy, appreciate the famous 450 horsepower 454 LS6 V8 engine. After spending 10 years on Pennsylvania street, this particular 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS454 LS6 was hidden in a barn for 40 years.

Because this car was stored for a long time, most of the original parts are present. While it was stored, moisture affected the whole vehicle and this Chevelle now has a lot of surface rust on nearly everything. The monster engine and the 4-speed manual transmission were a great combination and every gear head appreciated the SS454 Chevelle since 1970. As most of you know, the original SS454 LS5 engine made around 360 horsepower. People who needed more than 360 horsepower checked the LS6 option which cost around $263 back in 1970. This option featured a solid lifter cam, an 800 CFM Holley carburetor, low-rise intake, and square-port heads with 11.0:1 compression vs 10.25. This pushed the horsepower to 450 and made the car a 13-second car stock.

The owner of this Chevelle plans to do a nut and bolt restoration. That is a very good idea and I hope that he will enjoy the power of this amazing muscle car for many years to come.
