1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS454 LS5 M22 FOUND IN A BARN, STORED FOR 40 YEARS, SAVED FROM A COLLAPSING BARN!

I must agree that Chevelles became very desirable and expensive muscle cars. A highly optioned-out Chevelle can reach up to six figures easily. This particular is one of those highly optioned-out Chevelles. This beast came with a 454 LS5 V8 engine under the hood. This car was rescued from a collapsing barn where it sat for 40 years.

When this car was new, it was a stunning Chevelle. It came painted in a Tuxedo Black color with White color stripes. Those days are long gone and this car looks very tired now. It has a lot of surface rust and it will need a complete repaint. Surface rust isn’t the only problem that this car has. The car also has a lot of rust in the doors, in the underside, and in the trunk pan. This car came with a cowl induction hood which is very rare and cool. As I mentioned, this car had a 454 LS5 V8 engine. That engine is long gone. The rest of the drivetrain was very desirable as well, it featured an M22 4-speed manual transmission, a 3.31 Posi rear end, power steering, and power brakes. The good news is that the transmission and rear-end are still present. The interior is complete but it will probably need a complete restoration. The interior features Black Strato bucket seats, a U14 gauge package, and a rear speaker. All of these stuff are mentioned in the build sheet which comes with the car. This car was featured in Hot Rod Magazine back in 2018. The barn where the car was stored collapsed and the car was a little bit wrecked.

This Chevelle is a huge project. It will need a lot of rust repair, interior restoration, repaint, and a new engine. However, the car is a Holy Grail Chevelle and someone will probably restore it. As I mentioned, this car can reach up to six figures if it was restored. I am sure that someone is up for the challenge.
NOTE: THIS FIND IS FROM 2018!
