Sitting in Douglas’s garage is one of the coolest finds ever. The special thing about this car isn’t just the mileage. The car is a supercharged SVT Cobra Convertible that was never dealer prepped. Douglas’s dad purchased this Cobra and never moved it from his garage. He traded a 1999 Mustang for the car and he had plans of driving it. When he got home he decided that this car needs to be put away.
A couple of years later, Douglas bought the car from his dad and the car currently shares the garage with a 5.3 mile 2008 Shelby GT500. Looking at the engine bay, we can see the reason why Douglas’s dad wanted this car. This car has a supercharged V8 under the hood that makes around 390 horsepower, 70 horsepower more than the 1999 Cobra. This beast can go from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and it could reach speed up to 154 miles per hour. Douglas’s dad knew someone at Ford. That is why this car comes with a lot more documentation than a regular Cobra.
If I had a Mustang like this one sitting in my garage, I will probably make it a daily driver. I don’t know how people resist driving their cars. I guess it’s Douglas’s car and it is his decision. I hope that he gets to enjoy this beast someday.
