1963 FORD GALAXIE 500 XL FOUND IN A SHED, EX SHOW CAR, PARKED SINCE 1988!

This 1963 Galaxie was the main attraction in a lot of car shows and magazines until 1988. Sadly, in 1988 the car’s owner became ill and he parked it in a shed and forgot it. The car was found in the shad in a South Carolina, after being stored there for 33 years.

Back in the glory days, this Galaxie had a Rose Beige color with a black vinyl top. Time has not been kind to this poor Galaxie. It will need a lot of work and probably a full restoration to bring it back to the glory days. The good thing is that this Galaxie doesn’t have any major rust issues and that all of the parts are present. Under the hood, this Galaxie had the 390 V8 engine which made around 300 horsepower back in 1963. This engine is backed up by the 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission. As you can see, the engine hasn’t been touched since the ’80s. It will need a lot of work to make it run again. Back in the day. the interior of this Galaxie was eye candy. It had black vinyl trim, bucket seats, a console shifter for the automatic transmission, and air conditioning. Today, the interior didn’t survive all that much. Most of the parts are present, however, they will need a good restoration or a replacement.

As you can see, the Galaxie was on the cover of a magazine back in 1988. It sure was a beautiful car. I am sure that with the right amount of time and money, this Galaxie would grace the magazine covers again. I am sure that a true Galaxie fan will take on the restoration and bring this beauty back to its show car days.
