1978 FORD BRONCO SURVIVOR FOUND IN A BARN, FORMER FOREST SERVICE TRUCK!

I can’t remember the last time that I saw a Bronco with “Light Jade Poly” paint. There is a reason for that, the reason is that this is a former U.S. forest service vehicle. This Bronco today still has the original paint, the original 351 V8 engine that runs and drives good and it also features a C6 automatic transmission with a factory 3.50 gear ratio and limited-slip rear end.

This truck doesn’t have any rust. The reason for that is, the truck lived its whole life in California and Nevada, which is the ultimate combination to keep the vehicle rust-free. The owner says that the hardtop of this truck was restored. Ahh, the interior, with all that green and wood, when you drive this truck you think that you are in the forest. I assume that all the forest service Broncos had this interior, and it is a little ironic when you see a forest service truck with this kind of interior. The interior appears to be complete and all of the parts are original except for the trim on the steering wheel and the back seat. The A/C works but it will need some tweaks to make it perfect.

The mileage of this truck sits around 67,000 miles. The owner mentioned that some mechanical parts were replaced. This truck was refreshed with a new radiator, water pump, distributor, carb, ignition module, and general tune-up. As I said the truck runs and drives well without any major issues at the moment. Depending on how limited use did government vehicles saw I think that the mileage is original.
If this truck was mine, I would make it like it was when it serviced, do you agree with me?
