At first, this Galaxie didn’t catch my eye and I didn’t want to feature it. However, I did wanted to know more about the car and I decoded the VIN. When I decoded the VIN, this car turned out to be a very special car. This beast is a real 427 Galaxie. This beast was found in a yard in California.
The only bad thing about this Galaxie’s options is the interior. This Galaxie doesn’t have the XL package and that means that it has a bench seat. The interior of this car is missing some parts and everything in the interior will need a restoration or a replacement. The VIN numbers confirm that this beast had a 427 V8 engine under the hood which produced around 425 horsepower and 480-foot pounds of torque. This Galaxie also had a 4-speed manual transmission and beefed-up suspension and brakes. Finding a car abandoned in a yard is easy, however, finding a real 427 Galaxie in a yard is very rare these days. Restored 427 Galaxies reach up to six figures these days. That makes this car worth restoring.
Overall, this Galaxie is a very rare car but also a very huge project. The original engine is long gone, the interior is half missing and most of the car is rusty. However, a 427 Galaxie is very hard to find and this beast will probably get a complete restoration from a person who knows how special this car really is.
