The original owner of this amazing Corvette parked the car in his basement. The story goes that he wanted to restore the car but sadly he passed away and the car was left in his basement for 30 years. After 30 years of hibernation in a Kentucky basement, the car was found. The car is highly original and it has its original 427 V8 engine under the hood.
This car’s story is quite interesting. The car was originally a Texas car. The original owner relocated to Kentucky and he parked this car in his basement. He wanted to restore this car but that didn’t happen and the project was stalled as soon as it started. Though the original owner passed away, his car stayed alive and well. What he left was a very original and desirable 1968 Corvette. The car doesn’t have any rust issues. The paint isn’t original and it was repainted sometime in the ’80s. The original color of this car was Maroon. The next owner will probably paint this car in its original color. The interior is in respectable condition. It is original but it will need a good clean-up and some work. It will probably need a replacement carpet and a replacement foam in the seats. Corvette owners wanted a lot of power back in the ’60s. With a 427 V8 engine that makes around 390 horsepower, they sure got the power that they wanted. As you probably know, the engine in this Corvette is original and numbers matching. The engine runs and drives well and it won’t need a lot of work to make it perfect. The engine is hooked up to a 4-speed manual transmission which makes this car even more fun to drive.
This Corvette is a very decent car. It will need some work to make it perfect again. With the 427 under the hood, it sure is a very special car. All it needs is an owner who loves Corvettes to fix it and enjoy it.
