1972 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO 454 FOUND IN A BARN, RETIRED RACE CAR!

This 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was found in a barn. This car had a 454 V8 engine under the hood and a history full of racing. After it was found, the owner restored the car mechanically which included a rebuilt engine, rebuilt fuel system, and some brake work.

As you probably know, the Monte Carlo was the ultimate luxury car back in the ’70s. That was the case with this car. This Monte Carlo started its life as a luxury car and ended up as a race car. Sometime in the ’70s, the previous owner installed racing parts in this Monte Carlo. Those racing parts are a roll cage, 3000 RPM stall converter, a 12 bolt rear end with line locker, and fat rear tires. As I mentioned, this car has a 454 V8 engine under the hood. This engine made around 270 horsepower back in 1972. The power of this engine now is unknown but I am sure that it is way more than 270 horsepower. The body of this Monte Carlo looks nice. Except for some minor damage on the right front fender, this appears to be a very straight body. The car doesn’t have any rust, which makes this project very easy.

This Monte Carlo is very decent. With a 454 engine under the hood and a roll cage, it sure presents like a race car. However, will this Monte Carlo continue the life of racing? We will let the owner to decide.
