Most people prefer the first-generation Camaro. However, the second generation is still desirable and it is a very cool muscle car. This particular one was left in a yard in 1991. It is a real Z28 that has the desirable chrome bumpers. It was found in a yard in Idaho.
This car was sitting for 30 years in a dry climate. Rust is minimal but still present. The owner says that it has rust in the right front fender, the left rear quarter panel (behind the tire), and under the window channel under the vinyl top. The car also has a small dent on the nose. The owner says that he has new front glass and a new front spoiler which are already installed. While this car doesn’t have the famous split bumper, it has a spoiler which looks very good in brown color with white color stripes. Except for the minimal rust issues, the body looks good and straight. The power of the engine was reduced in 1973 by 10 horsepower. The famous solid-lifter 350 engine was replaced by a hydraulic-lifter 350 in 1973. This car also has the desirable Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. By the owner’s claims, the engine runs very smoothly without any smoke. He also replaced a couple of parts in it to make it run like that. The interior is a little faded. It appears to be original and it isn’t in a very bad condition. The color of the interior is very rare and uncommon. The seats appear to be in good condition, the dash is in good condition, and the cloth seats are a very nice feature of the car.
Overall, despite sitting in a yard for 30 years, the car is in good condition. Rust isn’t a big issue, the engine runs and drives, the interior needs a little refresh, and the body is nice and straight. I am looking forward to the restoration and I am sure that I will love the finished project of this car.
