The law in Georgia is that vehicles older than 1985 don’t require a title. This car comes without a title because it was bought from a garage in Georgia. There are a lot of legal ways to obtain a title and I know those true car enthusiasts will find and use one. You will probably ask me why would someone bother to get a title for a rough car like this one? Well, this car isn’t what it seems to be. This is a true 1971 Oldsmobile 442 and it is 1 of 6,285 made with the performance hardtop.
The missing window trim proves that the rear window was replaced. However, whoever did that job did an awful thing as you can probably see. All that dust proves the “Garage Find” theme and it is hard to tell the overall condition of this car with all that dust. The interior is complete, however, the owner doesn’t tell much about it. The large column-mounted tachometer proves that the original owner drove this car to races on Sunday. The original engine is still under the hood, but the owner says that the engine is locked up. As you can see the engine doesn’t have any carburetors and that someone dipped it in ugly gold paint. Olds 442’s engine lost some power in 1971, but it still made a respectable 270 horsepower.
The car is rough as you would expect. It has some things going for it, but a lot of the parts don’t look very good. The good thing about this car is that it has a lot of car fans drooling for it. It is a very respectable muscle car and it proves the big engine in a mid-sized car theme.
