Under all that dust lies a very special car. That special car is a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet. This car is a highly original car that was found in a barn. If that isn’t special for you, the fact that this car has only 8,000 miles will probably change your opinion.
This Mach 1 has an interesting story. The car has only 8,000 miles, however, it isn’t an all-original car. The car received a repaint in its original color back in 1979. I don’t know why that happened, but the paint appears to be in good condition. Whoever did the work to this car, did it right. The body is very straight and it doesn’t appear to have any rust. As I mentioned this Mach 1 is an original 428 Cobra Jet car. Under the hood, the original 428 Cobra Jet engine is present. The engine doesn’t look like an 8,000-mile engine. This car will probably need a close inspection to prove the mileage claims. The only thing that looks like the car really has 8,000 miles is the interior. The interior is all original and perfect. The owner says that the interior smells like it did when this Mustang came out of the factory and I don’t doubt him. This car is loaded with options. It has power steering, power brakes, AM/FM radio, factory tach, trip meter, and some other stuff.
This car sure raises a lot of questions. Why would somebody repaint a 8k mile car and why does the engine look like it has 100k miles? The only thing about this car that proves the mileage is the interior. If the interior really is original then this car has 8,000 miles.
