When the Nova came out it was a family compact car. However, by 1970 you can get one with a V8 and even with a 396 and a 4-speed manual transmission. Here we have a similar example of that.
This Nova was originally ordered with a straight 6 and a Powerglide transmission. But when we open the hood we can see something different. Under the hood, this beast has a period correct 396 V8 hooked up to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. If that isn’t a real sleeper I don’t know what is. Inside this car also remains stock except the owner added a column-mounted tach, manual shifter (that looks period correct), and a triple gauge pod to keep a tab on the engine’s vitals. I respect that the owner left the original seats and steering wheel.
I would have to see that I love cars like this one. When you look at this Nova you see a regular grandma grocery-getter, but when you put your foot on the pedal you could smoke a lot of cars. I am sure that a lover of sleepers or resto-mods will love this beast. So, would you buy a car like this one, and why would you buy it?
I call BS on this one, I talked to the guy that built the car 3yrs ago when it was for sale on eBay and I was bidding on it.
