This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was raced a lot back in the day. The person who raced it tried to keep it very clean and original. That is why this car has only 66,000 miles and it still wears its original paint. This beast was found in a barn and it holds a record on the drag track.
This car was found in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As I mentioned, this car is a record holder, it holds a record for running 11 seconds flat on the famous Hub City Dragway track. I would love to see a photo of this car on the track back in the day. The interior of this car appears to be very well preserved. It is in good condition and all of the original parts are present. Under the hood, this car has a date-correct 302 V8 engine which is hooked up to a date-correct M21 Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. Here is an interesting story about the engines of this car. This car left the factory with a 302, however, the first owner put a 454 V8 in it because it had more power and it was faster on the drag track. Later, that 454 was thrown out and the current engine was put into the car. The original 302 V8 engine is long gone. The original 12-bolt rear end still remains in its place and the cowl hood isn’t original.
This is the type of car that doesn’t appear often. It has a very interesting story, holds a track record, went through a lot of engine changes, and still is in its original shape. It doesn’t get much better than this!
