First-generation Camaros are everywhere these days, and it doesn’t bother me. They are very cool cars and Chevy made 243,000 Camaros in 1969. This particular 1969 Camaro was found in a carport in Tennessee and it is a SS car with the RS appearance package.
The owner of this car says that this car came out of the factory as an SS396 Camaro with the RS appearance package. The original engine was a 325 horsepower 396 V8 engine which is long gone by now. The owner says that he has over 100 parts for this car but he doesn’t mention if he has the original 396 engine. While it is said to be an RS/SS model, you can see that it is equipped with a lot of RS parts. With all the parts missing and the primer, it is very hard to determine the condition of the body. The owner says that this car was left to rot for 24 years. The interior is worst than the exterior. Everything there is broken or torn apart and it will probably need a major restoration to get it back to pristine condition.
Overall, the whole car is not a good project. The lack of the 396 engine and the body is a huge disappointment. There are a lot of better examples on the web and I think this will need a lot of money to get it there.
So, is this beast worthy of a restoration?
