I know that a lot of car people like surprises. Well this 1967 Chevelle SS396 is a big surprise. This beast was parked in a barn later moved to a yard. This beast was found in that yard which is located in South Carolina.
The 1967 Chevelle had some updates from the prior year. I had a friend who had a ’67 396 Chevelle. Her father was a big gear head and he tried to make the Chevelle the ultimate muscle car. In the end, he did! This particular car doesn’t look very bad. A good clean-up will reveal the true condition of the body. Under the hood, this car has its original L34 396 V8 engine. It has updated cam and lifters. While the L34 396 wasn’t as fast as the L78 396, it still made 350 horsepower which is enough. You probably noticed that the left inner fender is closer than it was when it left out of the factory. Red exterior with a black interior is a very popular muscle car color combination. It looked very good in 1967.
This car is a lot to take. However, with a good price tag, I think it will be worth restoring it. A lot of car collectors like to have a 396 Chevelle in their garage. I am sure that one of those will save this beast.
