This GTO is a good project for any muscle car fan. It has the desirable Tri-Power 389 V8 engine and the floor has already been restored. The rest of the car is left to the owner’s decision. You can go in two ways, you either complete a full restoration or drive it as it is.
As you can see most of the rust was dealt with. However, there is still some corrosion in the fenders and the owner mentioned that the exterior of this car is original and also that the paint is original. The interior will need to be completed also. Under the hood is where the real rarity is. This beast still has the original 389 V8 with a Tri-Power setup and a 4-speed manual transmission. This engine had respectable power but when it had the Tri-Power set up this engine was a beast.
Overall, this is a very rare and desirable car, and with the rust issues fixed this is a very good project car. As I said there are 2 choices, either you restore this beast or put an interior and drive it as it is.
