When this car was new, I am sure that it looked amazing. Today, this car is only the shadow of that. All that happened because this car was abandoned in a yard in New Jersey.
When you look at this Impala, it is very hard to choose where you should start the restoration. It has rust in every place that you can imagine. The owner says that the frame will need to be replaced. I can see that from the pictures. The floors are also gone and most of the underside of the car is eaten out by rust. With all these issues, I am not certain that this car will have a future. The interior isn’t any better than the exterior. The seats are missing and the rest of the interior is just rust. However, I can see that the gauges are in good condition and that they can be restored. There is only one thing about this Impala which makes it saveable. That is the fact that the car had a 409 V8 4-Speed under the hood. It isn’t an SS car but it came out of the factory with a 409 V8. However, that engine is missing and the owner is trying to track it down.
The owner of this Impala is a very honest man. He says that this car can be a project car or a parts car. If it was a project car it would be a very big project. It makes sense to see this car as a parts car. It has some good parts like trim, glass, the factory tach, and a few other smaller items.
