Back in 1963, Ford’s full-size fastback named Galaxie dominated the race tracks around the world. The owner of this particular Galaxie says that his car has seen better days. I have to agree with him. This 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL is a numbers matching R-Code car which was found in a barn in Connecticut.
There are no good pictures from the engine bay. However, we managed to obtain nice pictures from the exterior. This car was a monster back in the day. It made around 425 horsepower, which was a lot of horsepower back in 1963. The body of this car started rusting from the bottom and I don’t see it stopping. The shape of the interior isn’t clear because the owner didn’t give us any info or pictures of the interior. The car’s right side is gone and this project will probably need a donor car. The wheels look nice and original. That is probably the only good part of this car.
Overall, this car is a mess. It needs a lot of rust repair and complete restoration. However, it is a real R-Code 4-Speed Galaxie. That fact makes the car worth restoring.
So, do you see any future in this car?
