Texas is famous for its red clay. You can see that this beast is covered with it. This beast was found in a barn in Fort Worth, Texas. Under the red clay cover, we can see that this is a 1963 Ford Galaxie.
This Galaxie it’s the high-power version with the 406 V8 under the hood hooked up to a 4-speed manual transmission. The burgundy interior of this car looks very good and it matches the car. The owner says that this isn’t the original interior and that this was done somewhere between the late ’60s and early ’70s. The bad thing about this interior is that the dash and the steering wheel aren’t the same color as the rest of the interior. You can see the 4-speed shifter sticking out the floor and I am sure that a lot of people will get excited about this. I bet that the 406 engine under the hood was a show stopper before it had all this dust. You can see the long oval-shaped air cleaner and tell-tale fuel distribution that tells you this is a tri-power set up. The owner says that this car has a genuine 63k miles and that the engine turns over but it won’t start.
As you can see from the last picture the car got cleaned up and I must say that it doesn’t look that bad. The patina is looking pretty cool and with a little work, you can make this beast an awesome resto-mod. The owner tells us that he will get it running and he will take it to a swap meet. Would you be willing to own a car like this? I know I would…
