This car is a very special Impala. This 1962 Impala is a numbers matching SS 409 4-Speed car. It was found in a barn in California and the car was owned by Dale Armstrong back in the ’80s.
Mr. Dale Armstrong bought this car back in 1989. He bought it for a trip from Iowa to LA. Just imagine doing that trip in an SS409 Impala. I wonder how much money did Dale pay for this car back in 1989. As I mentioned this car is a survivor, which means that the car is highly original. The car had only one repaint in its original color. Hagerty rates a 1962 Impala SS409 4-Speed in fair condition to be worth around $90,000. Add to that the interesting story that this car has. This car is probably worth six figures as it is. The engine is all original and the owner even has a video of it running. The interior isn’t original and it was redone sometime in the 90s.
This beauty really is a holy grail Impala. From the history to the originality, this car is very special and one of a kind. As I mentioned the car is easily worth six figures which means that most of us can’t afford a car like this one.
The big question is: if you can afford this car would you restore it or leave it as it is?
