When enthusiasts hear the name “427 Galaxie” they picture a bare-bones Galaxie with a 410 horsepower 427 V8 engine. That isn’t the case with this car. Someone ordered this Galaxie as a convertible with the Q code engine, top-level 500 trim, and a 4-speed manual transmission. After sitting for 50 years in a container, someone finally decided to pull it out and take it to his garage.
Most of the car faded a long time ago. The next owner will have to prepare for a lot of surprising moments with this car. Most of the chrome is faded and the car has a lot of rust. The red and chrome combination is present in the interior as well. Sad thing is that most of the crome is faded out and in bad condition. The bench seat is present and it isn’t in bad condition. The interesting options make this car very fun to drive on a summer evening.
The pictures of the engine make me very sad. It looks like dust took over the engine. After a good clean-up and a lot of mechanic work, I am sure that most of the engine parts will be saved. The engine is original and numbers matching to the car. Overall, this car looks bad. However, this car deserves to be saved. It is very rare and probably the most desirable Galaxie ever built.
