If you put big wide tires in the back and small ones in the front, your ride better have something powerful under the hood. Well, this car proved itself. This 1969 Nova is no ordinary grocery getter. This beast is an original SS396 L78 car. It was found in a yard and it is a 1 of 600 made.
As you would probably expect, the original 375 horsepower 396 V8 engine is long gone. Good thing is that the original 12-bolt rear end with 3:73 gears still remains in his place. The aftermarket wheels and tires tell us that this car hasn’t been on the track for a long time. Would it be a sin to take this Nova to the truck a couple of times before restoring it in original condition? While most of the parts are gone, the metal is present and in good condition. The Texas weather has been kind to it and it won’t be a very hard fix.
Most people say that a big block Nova needs to have a stick shift transmission. I personally will take a manual over a stick shift every day of the week.
So, would you restore this beast or bring it back to its glory days of racing?
