1970s Trans Ams have been going up in value a lot. I can see the reason behind that. Everyone who wanted to own a Trans Am back in high school has a chance to own one now. This particular one is a very special Trans Am. In 1972 Pontiac built only 1,300 455 LS5 Trans Ams. Out of those 1,300, 458 had an M22 4-speed manual transmission. This Trans Am is one of those 458. This beast was found in a barn in California and it is a very fast muscle car.
This car has a very cool look. It has a lot of surface rust and the paint is almost gone. This car also has a lot of dings and dents. If you don’t want to look like it’s 1979 you will probably want to repair the body of this car. The 455 V8 is a very powerful engine. It made around 335 horsepower back in 1972. I can assume that with 335 horsepower and an M22 transmission you can have a lot of fun in the streets. The interior of this car is very blue. I like the white on blue color combination a lot. A lot of parts in the interior are missing and the floors have some rust. This car will probably need a new interior.
Overall, this car requires a lot of work. However, Trans Am prices have been on the rise and this project is sure worth it. With that 455 under the hood backed up by an M22, this certainly is a very rare and very desirable Trans Am that will go up in value.
