1 OF 268: 1970 OLDSMOBILE 442 W30 CONVERTIBLE PACE CAR FOUND IN A BARN!

Pace Cars are very desirable these days. Most of the Pace Cars were very cool, very rare, and had a lot of power. This Pace Car was one of those cars. This is a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W30 Convertible Pace Car. Oldsmobile made around 268 of these and this particular one was found in a barn in Virginia.

As I mentioned Oldsmobile built only 268 cars like this one. That figure makes the car very rare and desirable. If this car was restored it will be worth six figures. Except for a few missing trim pieces, the car is complete. The body does have some rust issues which aren’t anything major. The owner says that he has all of the missing parts which aren’t on the car. The owner also says that the interior is in good condition. Except for a bad carpet and steering wheel, the interior appears to be original and unmolested. The only thing that the interior needs right now is a good cleanup. The original 455 V8 engine is in the car. The engine is complete but the owner says that it will need a rebuild. This engine made around 375 horsepower back in 1970. The engine is backed up by a Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission, and a Posi rear end. Aside from the fact that this is a Pace Car, this was the top of the line trim back in 1970.

Out of those 268 Pace Cars built, only 52 are known to exist today. That makes the car even rarer and more desirable. Overall this is a very original Pace Car with a lot of original parts. All it needs is a good restoration from a true Pace Car fan.
