Automobile Find

1 OF 194: 1967 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z/28 SURVIVOR FOUND IN A GARAGE!

I love working for Automobile Find. And when a car like this one lands on my desk I drop my jaw. This is a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. The 1967 Z/28 is very rare and as I read on some forums there are only 194 left of these. This one is probably in the top 10 best in those 194 left because it had only one repaint its whole life and it remains in original and unmolested condition.

I have provided many photos of this Camaro because this is a work of art. It received only one repaint in its original color and that is the Butternut Yellow. The paint is just beautiful without any signs of dings or dents and also the stripes were reapplied at that time. They say that one picture can tell a thousand words and that is very true. The words about these pictures are beautiful, original, rare, jaw-dropping, etc. As you can see this Camaro has some Z/28 badging which isn’t original to the 1967 Z/28 but the owner chose to have these installed in 1969 by the dealer. The owner chose this car with a black vinyl top and tinted windows which looks absolutely amazing and I think it suits the Butternut Yellow and Black color combination. Now we can get to the special part of this car and that is under the hood. As you can see from the pictures under the hood this beast has the original 302 V8 engine which is baked by an M21 4-speed transmission and a 4.10 Posi rear end. Power steering and power front disc brakes make this beast drive like a charm. The power of this beast was rated at 290 horsepower (claimed by Chevrolet) but healthy Z/28 Camaro engines have been reported reaching up to 360 horsepower. The owner doesn’t mention if the engine runs and drives but from the looks of it, I can tell you that this is a perfect engine and a perfect example of an old original unmolested car.

The interior of this car is as perfect as you would expect. It’s all original without any signs of cracks or anything similar. It’s been a very good time writing about this amazing beast. With only 194 examples left and probably less than 10 in this condition this beast would cost you a lot of money and you have to have big pockets to buy and maintain this beast. In the end, this is an amazing time capsule that needs a little attention to get back to her glory days and scream as it screamed in 1967. What are your thoughts on this rare Camaro?
